  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Earl Grey tea leaves finely ground
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in the finely ground Earl Grey tea leaves and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Shape the dough into a disc, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
  • Roll the chilled dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  • Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between them.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a stronger Earl Grey flavor, you can steep the tea leaves in the butter before preparing the dough. Ensure they cool before incorporating.
