  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)
  • Mug or serving cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk dairy or plant-based (e.g., almond, coconut)
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey, to taste
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger or fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 pinch black pepper to enhance turmeric absorption
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg optional, for additional warmth

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  • Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, whisking regularly to prevent clumps and avoid burning.
  • Once the mixture is warm and well-combined (about 4-5 minutes), remove it from heat.
  • Stir in maple syrup or honey to taste, adjusting for sweetness as needed.
  • Optional: For a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer before serving.
  • Pour the golden milk into mugs and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For a creamier version, use coconut milk. If you prefer stronger spice flavors, increase the amount of ginger or cinnamon. This drink can also be served chilled for a refreshing twist.
