Italian Sub with Spicy Salami

This Italian sub features layers of bold flavors with spicy salami, fresh vegetables, and zesty Italian dressing, all encased in a soft sub roll.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sub rolls 6-inch, fresh
  • 8 slices spicy salami thinly sliced
  • 6 slices ham thinly sliced
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes sliced
  • 2 tbsp Italian dressing zesty
  • 1 tsp olive oil optional
  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar optional

Instructions
 

  • Slice each sub roll in half horizontally but not all the way through, leaving it attached on one side.
  • Layer the bottom half of each roll with 4 slices of spicy salami, 3 slices of ham, and 3 slices of provolone cheese.
  • Spread shredded lettuce evenly over the meat and cheese.
  • Top with thin slices of red onion and tomato.
  • Drizzle Italian dressing over the vegetables for extra flavor.
  • Optionally, add a light drizzle of olive oil and red wine vinegar for a tangy finish.
  • Close the sandwich and press gently to help all the layers stay in place.
  • Serve immediately or wrap tightly in parchment paper for later use.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add pickled banana peppers or crushed red pepper flakes. You can also substitute the dressing with a creamy Italian-style mayonnaise for a different flavor.
