Classic BLT with Garlic Aioli

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 slices bread toasted
  • 1 cup lettuce washed and dried
  • 2 slices tomato ripe and thick-cut
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
  • 1 pinch black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook the bacon in a frying pan over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create the garlic aioli.
  • Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  • Spread a generous layer of garlic aioli on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Layer the lettuce, tomato slices, and cooked bacon on two of the bread slices, then top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  • Cut each sandwich in half and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, use sourdough bread or add avocado slices. The garlic aioli can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
